What the product does, how the built-in AI writer drafts your scripts, which sources it can read, what it costs, and how your private corpus is protected.
About Scriptuber
- What is Scriptuber?
- Scriptuber is an AI YouTube script writer for creators. You give it a proven viral video, it extracts the format that made the video work, and its built-in AI writer drafts a full script in your own voice from your private notes. The draft lands in Script Studio for you to review, lightly edit, and copy out — saving about three hours per script.
- Who is Scriptuber for?
- Scriptuber is built for YouTube creators who write their own scripts and want them drafted fast without sounding like a generic AI tool. It is desktop-first, with a trimmed mobile experience for capturing ideas.
- Does Scriptuber write scripts for me?
- Yes. Scriptuber's built-in AI writer drafts a complete YouTube script from a single prompt, built on your linked viral source's format and grounded in your own notes so it sounds like you. You stay editor in chief — you pick the topic, approve the substance, and review every draft before recording. You can also drive the same sources and notes from your own Claude or ChatGPT over the MCP connector if you prefer.
- What is the built-in AI writer?
- The built-in AI writer is a Pro tool in Script Studio. Type one prompt and it streams a complete YouTube script (or blog article) into the editor, using your linked viral source as the format template and your private notes as the substance, in your own voice. A separate Writing Assistant rewrites any passage you select, for the final polish pass.
- Can Scriptuber publish to YouTube or X for me?
- No. Scriptuber has no publishing features. Finished drafts live in Script Studio, where you review them, edit lightly, and copy them out into your own production workflow.
The MCP connector
- What is MCP?
- MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is an open standard that lets an AI assistant call external tools and read external data. Scriptuber runs a remote MCP server, so Claude or ChatGPT can reach your Scriptuber account directly instead of you pasting content into a chat window.
- How do I connect Scriptuber to Claude?
- Copy your connector URL from Scriptuber Settings, then in Claude open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, paste the URL, and sign in. Finally, open the tools (+) menu in a conversation and enable the Scriptuber connector.
- Does Scriptuber work with ChatGPT?
- Yes. Supported ChatGPT workspaces can add the same Scriptuber connector URL as a custom connector. The same 14 tools are available.
- What tools does the connector give my AI?
- Fourteen: pull_source, extract_format, list_inbox, get_note, search_my_notes, get_cook_context, list_competitors, add_competitor, scan_discovery, list_discovery, stage_discovery_source, save_draft, list_drafts, and get_draft.
Sources and notes
- Which sources can Scriptuber pull?
- Scriptuber pulls transcripts and text from YouTube videos, web articles, and X posts. Give it a URL and it saves the transcript, the title, and the extracted format into your private source pile.
- Does Scriptuber support TikTok or Instagram?
- Not yet. TikTok and Instagram pulls are built but disabled. Only YouTube, web articles, and X posts are enabled today.
- What is competitor discovery?
- Competitor discovery watches the YouTube channels you choose and flags videos that significantly outperform that channel's own baseline view count. You pick which signal to turn into a script; Scriptuber never chooses a topic for you.
- What does format extraction do?
- Format extraction turns a proven video into a reusable template: its hook, its beat-by-beat structure, its pacing, its engagement mechanics, and how it closes. Your AI writes new content on that skeleton using your own substance, never the source's wording.
- Can I take voice notes?
- Yes, on the Pro plan. Voice notes are transcribed with Whisper and cleaned up automatically, then become searchable alongside your typed notes. You can also dictate straight into a draft in Script Studio. Free accounts can capture text notes.
Pricing and privacy
- How much does Scriptuber cost?
- Scriptuber Pro costs $19 per month or $190 per year, which is two months free. A Free plan covers text notes and AI cleanup at no cost, with no expiry.
- Do I need a paid Claude plan too?
- No. Scriptuber's built-in AI writer drafts your scripts, so the core workflow needs nothing but a Scriptuber Pro plan. A paid Claude or ChatGPT plan is only needed if you choose the optional MCP connector to drive the same sources and notes from your own AI, which then writes on your own subscription.
- Is my data private?
- Yes. Every MCP tool call is authenticated over OAuth and scoped to your own account, and every database table enforces row-level security. No other user can read your notes, sources, or drafts.
- Do you train AI models on my notes?
- No. Your notes and sources are never used to train models. They are used only to answer your own AI's tool calls.
- Can I cancel and get a refund?
- You can cancel at any time from the billing portal in Settings, and refunds are available on request within the first seven days. Your notes remain accessible on the Free plan after cancellation.
